SUMMARY:PKI Workshop at PKI Consortium
DESCRIPTION:Join Michael Osborne\, CTO IBM Quantum Safe at IBM Research\, for a special workshop at the upcoming Post-Quantum Cryptography Conference in Kuala Lumpur\, Malaysia. The event is free to attend. \nAdvancing CBOM: Hands-On with CycloneDX v1.7 and PKI Extensions\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Linux Foundation CBOM with ClycloneDX \nThe CBOM workshop will help participants understand and become familiar with the upcoming extensions to the CycloneDX CBOM standard v1.7. In particular new extensions targeted at reporting PKI certificates. We are actively talking to industry vendors who have expressed interest in collaborating on this workshop. \nWe will explore: \n\nUse open-source software recently transferred to the Linux Foundation. The software will be used as a basis for a hands-on section of the course.\nBecome familiar with the upcoming extensions to the CycloneDX CBOM standard v1.7\n\n\nTo get the most out of this interactive experience\, attendees are strongly encouraged to bring a laptop. Hands-on activities and guided tooling demonstrations will be included throughout the session.

SUMMARY:PQ Code Package (PQCP) Talk at RISC-V Summit North America 2025
DESCRIPTION:Join Markku-Juhani O. Saarinen\, Professor of Practice\, Docent\, Tampere University\, at the upcoming RISC-V Summit North America 2025\, for his talk “PQCP Support for RISC-V Vector“. \nThe PQ Code Package (PQCP) project provides high-assurance software implementations of standard post-quantum cryptography algorithms such as ML-KEM\, ML-DSA\, and SLH-DSA. PQCP is organized under the Linux Foundation as part of the Post-Quantum Cryptography Alliance\, and hence a “sister organization” for RISC-V International. \nPQCP’s current RISC-V optimization work is geared towards high-performance and application-class processors with vector extensions. PQCP is serving as a quantitative benchmarking platform for the development of possible ISA extensions at the RVI PQC Task Group\, such as the Keccak extension\, which is vital for PQC algorithms due to their extensive use of SHAKE (FIPS 202) extendable-output function. \nIn the talk\, we will cover the status of ML-KEM\, ML-DSA\, and SLH-DSA code bases from PQCP\, their formal validation\, and RISC-V optimizations. Furthermore\, we will discuss the Keccak instruction proposal from the RISC-V PQC TG and its impact on the performance of these algorithms and requirements for RISC-V Vector microarchitecture. \n**A recording of the talk will be available to the public 2 weeks after the event on the RISC-V YouTube channel.**

SUMMARY:Open Quantum Safe (OQS) Talk at OpenSSL Conference Prague 2025
DESCRIPTION:Join Douglas Stebila\, Associate Professor of Cryptography at the University of Waterloo\, at the upcoming OpenSSL Conference Prague 2025\, for his talk “The Open Quantum Safe Project\, and Other Post-Quantum Research Projects“. \nIn this presentation\, I’ll talk about the Open Quantum Safe project\, an open-source project that aims to support the transition to quantum-resistant cryptography. I’ll talk about current work in OQS and how it complements OpenSSL\, and also talk about other projects in the Linux Foundation’s Post-Quantum Cryptography Alliance. Time permitting\, I’ll also present some recent research results in post-quantum cryptography protocol transition. \n
