Norman Ashley is a Technical Lead Engineer at Cisco Systems in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. At Cisco, he develops libraries that enable others to implement security features within various products. He is also a contributor to the Open Quantum Safe project and sees its progression into the Linux Foundation as an opportunity to benefit the greater community.
Norman enjoys helping and seeing organizations fulfill their mission and live out their values. It is his belief that the highest form of serving is through agape.
A devoted husband to his wife, an ever-present Dad to his daughters, family time is priority. An avid footballer, Norman dreams of someday playing in a coed league with his daughters. Also, at some point to be tolerated by either of them on the tennis court as their doubles partner. A favorite quote and principle is “Being rather than seeming.”
Brian Jarvis is a Software Development Manager at Amazon Web Services. There, he leads the post-quantum cryptography team which is focused on Amazon’s migration to PQC. He also spent time as a developer and manager within AWS Security. Brian is an alumni of the Cryptographic Engineering Research Group at George Mason University and Vanderbilt University.
Matthias holds a PhD in applied post-quantum cryptography from Radboud University, completed under the supervision of Peter Schwabe. He is a maintainer of mlkem-native and mldsa-native. He previously maintained PQClean and pqm4. He is a co-submitter of MAYO and UOV to NIST’s additional digital signature competition. He serves as a co-editor of the Cryptology ePrint Archive. He is based in Taipei, Taiwan.
Aditya Koranga is an expert in Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), Telco Security, and cloud-native technologies, currently serving as the chair of the PQCA TAC. He is a co-founder and maintainer of the NgKore Foundation.
Aditya’s expertise spans a range of open-source projects, including liboqs, OpenSSL, cuPQC, oqs-provider, Bouncy Castle, CIRCL, StrongSwan, etc. Along with PQC, his work extends into Quantum Random Number Generators (QRNG) & Quantum Key Distribution (QKD).
Aditya leads open-source communities such as ngKore and Magma India, and drives the integration of PQCA projects into Linux Foundation Networking (LFN) and Linux Foundation Connectivity (LFC) projects, different use cases & domains such as successful integration of Open Quantum Safe + PQ Code Package with Kubernetes Operator, Telecom, O-RAN & eBPF related projects and has releasesd blogs and videos around it. Recently, he has joined the TSC of the PQCA CBOMkit project.
Aditya also focuses on PQC optimization for KEM algorithms, modifying distribution methods, noise sampling, and NTT reduction schemes. He has worked on PQC benchmarking, hardware/software crypto acceleration, and authored several technical blogs, white papers, technical reports, deployment videos and has patents in Post quantum security.
Beyond his technical expertise, Aditya is a writer, poet, and rapper (sometimes, on the weekends) who enjoys reading standards & RFCs before going to bed.
Max (or Dr Max) is an IBM Distinguished Engineer and leader for the OSS teams contributing to all things open Quantum and Serverless.
Previously, Max was a principal engineer at IBM RTP for the worldwide point-of-sale standard: JavaPOS. Then at IBM Research-Almaden, he was a research scientist and did pioneering work on cloud computing and platform-as-a-service.
Max joined the IBM Cloud Labs in 2014 as Chief Architect for Cloud Innovations, leading IBM’s team for Cloud Foundry OSS then Knative/Kubernetes. As of 2024 Max rejoined IBM Research to help lead the quantum services, quantum open source, and quantum safe.
Max’s main expertise are in software engineering and distributed systems. Max published 100+ refereed papers with citations of 7500+ on GoogleScholar, 100s of blogs, and hold 21 issued patents. Max is an avid amateur photographer and triathlete; bragging rights: 2 award winning photos with Leica Society in 2021, 10 half Ironman, one full Ironman, and 20+ marathons.
Max has a master’s and PhD degrees in computer science and various executive certificates in AI and quantum.
Sophie Schmieg is a cryptography engineer at Google, where she leads the ISE Crypto team. As part of her work in ISE Crypto she is responsible for Google’s transition to post-quantum cryptography.
Sophie has a PhD in algebraic geometry from the university of Ulm.
Andreas Schade is a member of the Platform Crypto and Security Group at the IBM Zurich Research Laboratory His current research focusses on Cryptography Bill of Materials (CBOM) and Post-Quantum Security. He is a co-author of CBOMkit and serves as a member of the Post Quantum Cryptography Alliance (PQCA). Andreas’ background is computer science in particular distributed systems and applications management, which was also the topic of his dissertation. Throughout his career in IBM Research, he has worked on communication platforms for medical environments, virtual markets and service trading, pervasive computing, device profiles and delivery context information, autonomous tracking devices, authorization languages, and threat management. He holds a diploma degree and a doctoral degree in Computer Science, both from Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany.
